Join a well renowned, government-owned corporation in the Energy sector who are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join their team in Tennant Creek.
In this role you will provide a high level of technical expertise in industrial mechanical maintenance, performing preventative and corrective maintenance activities and modifications on industrial Reciprocating equipment associated with critical power generating plant operating on diesel fuels.
This role has TOP of market allowances and an attractive package:
- $104,656 – $136,196 + Super & Allowances

If you have less experience in certain areas, don’t worry as training can be provided! This is a fantastic opportunity to upskill and potentially gain new certifications / tickets, where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation and monitoring of all generation plant, inspections, isolations, lubrication, routine tests and where possible rectification of plant defects.
- Adhere to Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) processes and procedures
- Operate and maintain diesel reciprocating engines and electrical power generation equipment
- Manage and investigate critical plant emergency incidents
- Conduct site wide in-service checks and operation of all critical auxiliary balance of plant
- Undertake daily inspections and maintenance on the power station ancillary equipment
- Responsible for multiple energy source isolations including High Voltage electricity
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and participate in housekeeping duties
- Participate in an on call roster
- Relevant AQF Cert III (Trade) mechanical qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Experience isolating multiple energy sources and managing work permits
- Experience in the operation of gas turbines, reciprocating engines or small industrial gas turbines
- Knowledge of maintaining diesel engines (Cummins and Caterpillar ideal).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to other sites if required.
- Ability to use IT systems, spreadsheets, and maintenance management software.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards in industrial settings
